The Honey Festival in Falher Supports Peace River STSN Bid

The Honey Festival Committee today announced support for the Peace River Big Valley Jamboree Small Town Saturday Night (STSN) bid as the 2nd and Final round of voting of the Top 10 finalist in the contest commences on March 13, 2017. The Honey Festival Committee was an active supporter of the Falher STSN bid during the first round of voting.

The statement released by the Committee “identifies in our view the best opportunity for locals in McLennan, Guy, Donnelly, Falher, and Girouxville to be able to enjoy this incredible STSN event is to get behind and actively support the Peace River bid.” “Our  Committee is calling on everyone that supported the Falher bid to join in supporting the Peace River bid and to solicit broad local support  of our neighbours efforts to host this event.” “Heck this is a great opportunity for folks from High Prairie to Hay River and all around to vote in support of the Peace River bid in the hope of hosting this event in the North.”

The committee has links to the STSN event on the Honey Festival website at The Honey Festival is held annually in Falher on the 3rd weekend in June and is celebrating its’ 25th year in 2017 from June 16 -18. The Festival includes; a parade, a automotive show and shine, slo-pitch tournament, a 5k/10k fun run/walk, live adult music and entertainment, bee related demonstrations, and family & kid entertainment to name some of the activities. The Committee continues to strive to make the Honey Festival the premier event in the area on this weekend and we encourage everyone to participate in one of our activities or just come out and join us for a day or even a few hours and check out the festival.

Online voting in the final round  to determine the winner of the STSN contest commenced on Tuesday March 13th. Those wishing to cast a vote in support of the Peace River Bid can go to the STSN voting site. “People voting to support this bid can cast a vote daily right up until the last day on March 27, 2017 at 11:59 pm.
