For many years the Honey Festival has been funded with grants, donations and sale of tickets. This year that the Honey Festival celebrates its 25th Anniversary, we are planning to receive a crowd larger than other years; but we cannot do it without your support. The Mead & Greet is an excellent opportunity to bring local businesses and community groups together while enjoying a fantastic menu, specially designed by Chefs Doreen Prei and Kathryn Joel, and paired with a selection of fine meads and wines.
Kathryn and Doreen are co-owners of Get Cooking, based off the MacEwan University City Centre. Together they have become a staple in Edmonton, participating in numerous events like Food Fight YEG or Dinner en Blanc. We have been listening to Doreen in CBC’s Radio Active for quite a while and enjoy her easy no fuss approach to create delicious and adventurous meals. You can listen to Doreen’s radio column every Thursday at 4:40 p.m. on CBC Edmonton 93.9 FM.
As experienced chefs, Kathryn and Doreen are food enthusiasts who believe in promoting and using local products as we are. And they also love honey as we do!
Our chefs will take the stage to demonstrate the art of fine cuisine. The 4-course menu designed by Doreen and Kathryn pays homage to Northern Alberta honey. The main ingredients are locally grown or produced in the Peace Region.

Braised Alberta Lamb, Honey Carrot Butter, Roasted Shallots, Lentils
Honey Yogurt Mousse, Saskatoons, Salted Alberta Honey, Honey Biscotti
